We were both invited to play in a band for some gig years ago in another dimension called ‘Frankston’ and liked the way each other played, from there we formed our own band (DNA Jazz) but that wasn’t enough to satisfy our creative talents so we decided to branch out into the world of busking! Started off around Frankston and played a few footy songs and people seemed to like that better than anything else we did so we thought “hey, lets try this at the Footy!?!” so we did and we’re still there!!

What team do you both follow?

Collingwood of course!!!!

The funniest thing you've seen whilst busking at the footy?

Have you ever stood and watched the footy crowd entering or leaving a game??? They’re all funny!! But seriously, most of them are just plain ugly, which is funny!! But seriously, drunken brawls are always good for a laugh, when we’re not involved, female strippers, male strippers not so much, when security tries to move us on, but just people in general are probably the funniest thing, the looks, the walks, the comments, the passion, the hatred, funny stuff!!!

Do you go in and watch the footy or just hang out spending all your gold coins on pies and doughnuts?

Have you ever tried to buy anything with a gold coin at an AFL venue????? Not possible!!! Bloody money hungry bastards they are at the expense of the game.

Better if every fellow Collingwood fan would buy one!!! It’s going really well, everyone wants one and they always say how good it is and how much they love it!! Anyone who hasn’t got one, you’re missing out!!! We’ve had airplay on a few radio stations including SEN and PBS and will continue to hassle the crap out of The Footy Show and MMM till we got on there as well!!

Loved the Collingwood songs on your present CD. Any plans to do some more Collingwood versions?

Yes, absolutely! We have plenty of ideas for bigger and better versions of the Collingwood song! Imagine this: doo do do dooo, tum tee tum tum da diddly da doo rah lay!! Now, imagine that with an 80 piece symphony orchestra and 100 voice choir all dressed in black and white with Peter Daicos conducting and Eddy McGuire’s head being used as a woodblock, live at the MCG!! Now forget all that, it’ll probably be more like us at home with a jug and washboard!! But whatever we do, and we will do something big, it’ll be the best you’ve ever heard, even better than the CD version, and that’s saying something!!!

Hang on, is that a trick question?? We are both Collingwood supporters………so obviously we are=2 0both super intelligent!?!

What do you both do in summer?

Dave likes to sunbake at Sunnyside nudist beach in Mornington, while Anthony enjoys taking his binoculars to a particular beach in Mornington to ‘worm watch’, that is when there is time between busking at the Cricket, Soccer, Tennis and of course we always make time for our favourite activity, underwater scrabble!!

Absolutely, that’s the best part of the gig!! But we’re getting a bit tired of the usual “get a real job”, “won’t make any money playin that song”, “give ya $100 if ya play ……”, “I would have given you money but you’re playin the wrong song”, “Can you play Metallica?” and all that same old crap!! A free CD to anyone who comes up with something original!!

Yes, and surprisingly it’s usually little kids, Essendon supporting little kids!!! Bastards! Either that or old people! They obviously don’t realise that that is our bread and butter, how would they like it if we stole their wallet????

Do you pay tax on monies collected?

Monies?? That would insinuate that there was at least 2 coins!?!?!

Have you ever played the wrong club song after any game?

Yes, on the rare occasion that Collingwood lost. We still have to play the winning team song, but if its not Collingwood then its not the right song!!

Where will you both be in ten years time?

At the footy!! 20 years……at the footy!!!!! We’ll be there forever!!!!

Where do you both want to be in ten years time?

Busking at the footy and living in a large, spacious industrial sized refrigerator cardboard box, as opposed to the 30cm B&W TV box that is home at the moment!!

Ever had eggs or tomatos come your way?

only when we visit the Salvo’s soup kitchen for breakfast, apart from that its home brand imitation gruel all the way!!! Mmmmmmm!

Joffa!!! But seriously, Jennifer Hawkins can leave her shoes under our cardboard box any day!! We’ve had the opportunity to meet many ‘celebrities’ and now spend most of our time trying to dodge phone calls from all the celeb’s that wanna meet us!!!

What do you like about football?

What is there not to like?? The fans are the life of the game, the game itself is the toughest around and sorts the men from the boys, the whole atmosphere of football is electrifying and exhilarating, there’s no other sport in the world that compares to Aussie Rules Footy!!!

What dont you like about football?

The umpires, the AFL, the venues, the prices, the politics, the way that they are making it so soft and turning it into netball, the alcohol restrictions, basically everything that they do that has really nothing to do with the game but affects everyone who enjoys the game in a negative way! Oh yeah, and Essendon!!

When will you be asked to perform pre match Grand Final?

Hopefully this year, then at least there will be some decent entertainment, but I doubt it!!!

Who will win the Premiership in 2009?

The Footy Buskers will make the ‘most eligible bachelors’ list!! Either that or Melbourne will win the Grand Final!! Both about as believable as the Footy Buskers being asked to perform pre match Grand Final or buying anything with a gold coin at an AFL venue!

Will you offer a 10% discount on all CD's if someone comes up and says i read your interview on joffasfrontpage.com?

We rely on this money for food, the less money we make the less food we get, the less food we get the less money we’re able to make, the less money we are able to make the less food we get etc………….How would you like it if your boss came up and told you that he was cutting your wage by 10%, while you continue to do the same work, just because he read Joffa’s front page!?!?

What do yooz reckon about that nuff case who wears a Gold Jacket?

Wees reckon that the Gold Jacket is nowhere near as meaningful as a Black & White one so the nuff who wears it isn’t a real Collingwood fan at all!!!!

Have you ever been given a fifty dollar note whilst busking?

They make $50 notes now??? What do they look like???? Actually we’ve been given $100 note by none other than Darryl Somers!! The only one we’ve ever got though and we had to tear it in half!

And if you so did you pack up and run?

We didn’t pack up, we just ran and hid in the bushes, hiding our newly acquired wealth from the world!! We took it in turns to count it!!!

We just hang on, tie it in a knot, which we are both able to do due to the extreme length! We can’t stop for any reason, if we stop, we lose money, if we lose money we can’t eat, if we can’t eat we can’t make more money, if we can’t make more money……you get the idea!!!

Describe yourselves?

We are just your average, fun, footy loving, music playing legends who love what we do and do what we love and have heaps of fun while we do it!!! We love seeing and talking to all the fans from all the teams and just want to entertain people and help them to enjoy the footy even more, and of course encourage them to support us in our attempts to become less starving!!
