On September 25th 2011 the annual Ride 4 Epilepsy will take place and provide the Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria with an opportunity to increase awareness of epilepsy as a brain disorder and the needs of people living with epilepsy. The event will also raise much needed funds to provide services and foster community integration.

Ride 4 Epilepsy is a new event open to all people from the recreational cyclist through to competitive cyclists and offers the unique opportunity to cycle at Sandown raceway on a brilliant road circuit. All participants will receive a transponder and your time and distance recorded.

Entry Fees: Adult $79 Child $59 (under 18 years)

There will be entertainment plus a Sponsor Expo - to keep the non-riding members of the family entertained. We will also be conducting a bike education program for the youngsters.

The Epilepsy Foundation, in conjunction with Cycling Events Downunder, is pleased to offer cyclists of all abilities this unique opportunity to enjoy the challenge of riding in a competitive environment on fully closed roads.

From 8.00 am until 2.00 pm, the wide, smooth circuit of Sandown Park raceway is yours. With pit lane available for teams, you can set up your own support crew!

Set Your Own Challenge - ride for 6 hours; go for the fastest lap; have a family challenge - how many laps in an hour; see if you can beat Joffa's lap time of 8 minutes; fine tune your team for The Around the Bay Ride 3 weeks later - trial your logistics & support teams or match your team members on skill or endurance levels; or just work out your own ideas.

Riders can compete against their age group and for overall line honours. There will be special awards for fastest individual lap, fastest team lap, fastest lap in all age categories, most distance covered in all categories including a special teams award.

Each rider is timed individually and exact distance will be recorded. Fastest lap times, fastest teams and greatest distance covered will be continuously updated and displayed on a large screen at the start finish area.
